Two jobs trying to make ends meet

The people I look up to have had some impact on my 46+ years but on occasion, I run across people who I can't help but admire. Recently, I met with a gentleman who is working 2 full time jobs. Job # 1 is an over-nighter - 11pm until 7:30am, then he goes to his 2nd full time job from 8:30pm until 5:00pm. On top of that he is close to 65 years old. This gentleman works hard, 16 hours a day and when I spoke to him, he had a quiet way about him, saying that he does what he has to do to make ends meet.

Family Time

"Time is more valuable than money. You can get more money, but you cannot get more time." - Jim Rohn

I see it a lot. Parents missing time with their kids – Be it baseball, softball, football, soccer or Lacrosse games or not being at home during the evenings because they have to work. If you are working more than one job trying to keep up with your bills, bankruptcy may offer you a chance to spend more time with family. Call me today for a free consultation.

"He who loses money, loses much; He who loses a friend, loses much more; He who loses faith, loses all".
Eleanor Roosevelt

Goverment Shutdown and the Bankruptcy Court

The Government has started a partial shutdown, but not all governmental operations have stopped. The Bankruptcy Courts are not affected, at least not currently. Below is an e-mail sent out from the Northern District of Georgia Clerk of Court for the Bankruptcy Courts.

Every day, prospective clients call inquiring about bankruptcy options and one of the most asked questions is: Will I lose my property if I file a Chapter 7? Most of the time, the answer is NO.

Marriage and Bankruptcy

Recently, I’ve had a couple of clients come in who are about to get married and who were considering filing a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. The question they asked is: “Should they file bankruptcy before they got married or wait until afterward”.  In a lot of cases, it makes sense that a person would file a Chapter 7 before getting married.
